What’s she mean by “a war we don’t know how to fight”?
We just need to focus in our country and let all this countries that are not the u.s. figure out their mess. The problem is that we make too much money from wars and supplying countries weapons. If we became again a country that makes more money from exporting cars, technology etc. we would not be involved in so many wars since our income would be from those other things. We need to focus on our country and maybe fixing north and south america since we can trade with this countries that are closer and not be involved in this region that has been in wars for thosands of years.
Israel already has nuclear weapons and I have no doubt that Turkiye will have its own program by 2030 – why are we kidding ourselves that Iran will limit itself to conventional weapons ? All the sanctions, all the inspections and all the sabre-rattling won't stop them, sadly.

Answering her question, It falls on the US alone to guarantee freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, even though most of the trade in the region is actually between Europe and Asia, because unfortunately the US is the only country that has the means to do it. Among the European countries, the UK and France are the only ones that have a navy with a limited capability to strike the Houthis. Both countries have aircraft carriers that could be deployed to the region, but none of them has done it so far. Both countries are also capable of firing sea-based cruise missiles (the French both from frigates and submarines, and the British currently from submarines only), but France has refused to participate in the attacks on Yemen and the UK has taken part (twice), but not with its naval assets, using instead RAF Typhoon fighters based in Cyprus that have to fly 3,000 km back and forth with air-to-air refueling (i.e., a testimony to the professionalism of the RAF, but hardly an ideal condition for an air attack operation).
Even if France and the UK committed their full naval assets to these attacks, what they have in terms of available aircraft and missiles pales in comparison with the resources of the US Navy and would not be enough for prolonged sustained operations. Under current conditions, European countries (other than France and the UK), and possibly also Australia and Canada, could send one or two escort warships each to the region, but that would make little difference and probably would be a liability as their air defense systems against missiles fired from Yemen or drones are relatively poor compared to what the US Navy and the Royal Navy have. Australia actually turned down a request by the US to send its most modern warship to the region because, in practice, it would be a sitting duck for Houthi missiles and drones in the Red Sea.
If the Europeans were to participate in bombing the Houthis, they would have to do it with their air forces, not with their navies. Most European countries, plus Canada and Australia, have capable American-made fighter jets with NATO-issue laser guided bombs that could be used against the Houthis, but they cannot launch those jets from their home bases in Europe as the RAF is doing from its basis in Cyprus. They would have to be based somewhere in the region, for example, in Saudi Arabia, which would involve delicate political negotiations and may not be feasible. It would also take time too.
In summary, the United States has to do it because currently no one else besides the United States can do it in a short notice.
In 2002 there was a wargame called millennium challenge and a Marine Corps General was in charge of the red forces that were similar to Iran and they used low tech methods to beat the crap out of the US forces. Then the military leadership restarted the game and the US forces won.
