May I say a word for the Chinese side? When was the last time China fought a war with another country? And when was the last time the American ? So how China is the biggest threat to the world peace and american become the keeper of it. As to Taiwan , what if the Chinese sent t a high rank delegation to scotland or north ireland with Chinese military jets and aircraft carrier escorted, and saying your independence campaign were supprted by China and its armed forces? Yes, the ultimate answer might come to the same old cliche that China is the authoritarian regime which kills vigurs like animals and people no have any freedom. Come on folks, let's live in real life. I am not gonna say China is the perfect country and the Chinese authority is the perfect regime in the world, well ,which country is . But a people slaughtering nation, a totally no freedom country would not have created the second largest economy in the world , and become the biggest or second biggest business partnership to most countries .
Taiwan is part of China and that has been a known fact for DECADES, the fact that Taiwan made the bold decision to govern themselves in democracy is asking for conflict. I personally think we don't have any business getting involved even if it's just to capitalize on the conflict, yes it is to our benefit for obvious reasons but at the end of the day if Puerto Rico were to do the same and receive the support from an opposing country that is in debt to us more than we are to them we all know for a fact that our government isn't letting that one fly. I don't support China but I don't think this issue requires the lives of Americans being put at stake for or pass bills to capitalize on another conflict smh

You Americans just don't learn. You tried to keep North Vietnam from reunifying with South Vietnam in the 1960s and 1970s.
You drafted and sent 3 million American young men over the period of 10 years to fight there and you failed miserably.
North Vietnam had a meager population of just 13 million people, barely any industries very few resources.
Mainland China has 1.4 Billion people, is the largest industrial manufacturer in the world, has nuclear weapons and the ability to obliterate every city in the United States in less than 30 minutes.
US military can barely meet its recruitment requirements each year. If the US goes to war over Taiwan, you butts and the butts of your children are going to get drafted and sent to war. The US cannot fight China without a universal draft.
Your cities in the Mainland US are going to get bombed and turned to ruble. You might even experience a nuclear exchange. There will be a shortage of everything. The economic and social impact in your lives is going to be of massive proportions.

Taiwan's own constitution states that Taiwan is a part of China. There are 2 million Taiwanese who have moved to the live and work in thr Mainland. There are many Taiwanese who support reunification with the Mainland.
This is a Civil conflict between Chinese people. The people of Taiwan came from China, speak Chinese, celebrate Chinese festivals, ceremonies, culture and write in Chinese. They are Chinese.
Taiwan's official name is not even Taiwan. Taiwan's official name is Republic of China or ROC for short. The ROC was founded in the Mainland. How are you going to have a Republic of China that was founded in the Mainland that doesn't belong to the Chinese people?
Taiwan's government used to represent the all of Mainland China in the UN security council up until 1972. How can you possibly Claim that they are not a part of China?
