China is wrecking its own economy by all this bravado and threatening. Nobody is going to want to risk investing there with its missles and warplanes and a touchy dictatorship.
Anyway I always thought this would happen eventually. All the U.S. companies that laid off U.S. workers offshored all their manufacturing to China are going to be left holding an empty bag instead of extra profits, and those that stayed in the U.S. and employed Americans will have the last laugh.

Henninger is right that this situation with China being so aggressive and overreacting is all about Xi’s flexing of power and manipulating nationalistic fervor. Xi knows Biden is worthless and weak so now is the time to act. China’s economy is showing huge cracks in its foundation and they are overextended, but then so is the US. Militarily the PLA is not capable of defeating the US military, but they don’t have to do that to get what they want. They just have to disrupt and isolate Taiwan long enough until America quits, which we very often do before long.

Biden’s administration is trying desperately to distract from the China issue by creating other fake issues like FBI raiding Trump and a focused caucus to prove what they haven’t been able to prove against Trump.
