Washington — The U.S. has intelligence that Russian commanders have received orders to proceed with an invasion of Ukraine, with commanders on the ground making specific plans for how they would maneuver in their sector of the battlefield, CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reported on "Face the Nation" Sunday.
The intelligence indicates that "they're doing everything that American commanders would do once they got the order to proceed," Martin said.

Maybe if Ukraine can have a treaty with Russia not to have Nuclear weapons in its Country might be a Peace offering to Putin. Then Ukraine can join NATO.

How would Putin retaliate to raise energy prices in USA? Not through gas upon which usa imports zero. Russia could reduce gas to Europe but suffer loss of revenue, however this would not affect us gas price since usa has 10% spare production capacity. So even if this increases us lng exports to Europe, gas prices should not rise appreciably.
Russia could cut oil production and suffer lost revenue to drive up world oil price . that's possible.

There is absolutely no way that Putin would invade Ukraine, he knows history too well. In the 1980s, US and Pakistan lured Soviet Union to invade Afghanistan which led to the disintegration of USSR. Now, NATO is luring Russia to invade Ukraine, I don’t think it is going to happen.
