Karan Nair who scored 300 runs was never given chance and Jadhav was preferred. During Ravi shastri coach he relied on openers only & never promoted new player that's why still 3,4,5 position is weak. During Dhoni's time we had good inswing bowlers like RP Singh, Sreesanth, Irfan Pathan who also tried yokers. Plus Ojha and Chopra were decent spinners. In batting we had yuvraj who was finisher like Michael Bevan and captain Dhoni playing support role like Steve Waugh. The bowlers were scoring more than Rohit Sharma and were hard hitters.We did not produce quality bowlers , batsman and we did not give chance to batsmen when they were in form like Mayank Agarwal, Karan Nair were kept to sit in bench. To get into Australia team u have to play x number of games where your temperament & skill plus ownership are tested. This discipline is lacking in BCCI.
