I think they went in February and checked to see if there was actually anything they could use to create the “taken information” scandal, and as the midterms approached and the polls continued to look ominous, they pulled the trigger on creating a public scandal out of the always existing non-public scandal.
Use law enforcement to influence control of the country and distract people from that alarming reality by the scandal you’re presenting to them.

It isn't the rank and file FBI that are the problem, it's the over politicized leadership. Even the oversight committee over the DOJ FBI has trouble getting clear answers from Garland often. Trump has more classified info in his head than he ever had on his desk. Many documents might touch on nuclear subjects and are not a security threat you can even find info on your cell phone, doesn't make it a national security issue Some people on the oversight committee say it is unlikely there is even documents with such serious level of information kept in a place like the oval office. They didn't go to a federal judge. Why did they go to a lowly magistrate who defended Jeffrey Epstein appointed by Obama who says he hates Trump???? If you hate someone don't you recuse yourself???? why didn't he???

Trump also granted pardons to over two dozen people in December of 2021. He'll be running for President in 2024 only because he could grant himself a pardon. Most Republicans back him which means Trump's Republican Party backs criminals in the United States. Trump 2017: “The mob takes the Fifth… If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” Since the search at his home in Florida, Trump supporters have been threatening violence to the judge who signed off on the search, the DOJ and the FBI. "Defund the FBI" has been shouted out by Republicans. The law and order party is no longer. You should have known that when January 6, 2021 happen as homegrown terrorists attacked our nation's capitol and law enforcement while Trump did nothing.
