It's the sh—ty foods dogs eat not to mention the bad air, bad water and not enough exercise. These are the exact SAME problems HUMANS have and why they become susceptible to all kinds of bacteria, viruses, and disease! Are the antibiotics helping??? Right! Use your brains!
Is there any sign of enlarged thymus glands? My guess that synthetic snake/marine snail venoms are in their food and the presence of the toxins make the thymus swell. The dog feels like there is something impinging of their trachea, stimulating the coughing.
