A national war on guns is definitely needed to lessen gun violence, but sadly America is an unjust/unequal society in which law enforcement and the courts will be compelled to direct their enforcement towards minority groups. In a fair and just society, raising minimum age to 25, conducting extensive background checks, requiring a CCW permit and allowing active/retired LEOs to travel by any mode nationally with their weapon, could all be steps in the right direction.
