Russia has been a pariah to anyone with a brain and a memory ever since Putin assumed power. Invasions of Checnya (2 of those), Georgia (not the one next to Florida), and The Ukraine (2 of those). Putin is a Stalin wannabe. We have treated him with kid gloves, in the hopes that he would not feel threatened and stop invading everything he sees. Not only has that failed miserably, our weakness has only emboldened him. He has vowed to recreate the old USSR. We have tried to ignore that, and it is now costing us.
In the 21st century, 70+ years after the UN was founded to prevent such a thing, militarily invading your neighbors to expand your territory — it's safe to say Russia is a pariah state right now. Just one which can veto any UN action, which neuters that organization. Russia and their ally the CCP along with their respective satellite vassal states (Belarus, North Korea) remind us that it's not that the world never learns from history, it's that world leaders just don't care. They will be the doom of us all for their naked ambitions, which if successful would not even be fulfilling to them. The world is run by idiot savants and corrupt takers who contribute nothing.
Young Americans have no sense of their future either. The standard of living is disappearing. A crumbling empire. A middle class squeezed and drained of all wealth and labor; exploited and spent.
