SMRs are a HORRIBLE idea! DO NOT use SMRs! You should instead have dedicated staff for full nuclear energy plants. Diversifying energy output to SMRs dramatically increases the statistical chances of exposure, loss of tracking, unreported incidents, malicious insiders, and destroys economy of scale. SMRs ARE NOT VIABLE! We don't have the infrastructure in our policy, education system, or workforce to facilitate upkeep of community SMRs. Get off the hype wagon! You want to do nuclear safely, stick to conventional schemas and use full fledge nuclear generation plants, even if it is modularized with SMR units. Put them by airports. Seems reasonable. High population density centers and quick egress and ingress of mtc activity. Proximity would instigate vigilance.
