sounds like a win/win to me. Rich people shouldn't be the only ones to be able to afford college. I think school should be free for everyone anyways………………because you don't want to limit your Einsteins of the future to only children of rich people……………….that thinking would greatly limit the
technological potential of any nation.
Actually let them get their student loan forgiven. Wouldn't want to be them in the future because banks and companies will see them as a high risk and they'll have a black spot against them for not being responsible. Just like credit cards do now.. daddy Biden won't be around for ever and future loans won't be attainable to them..because of this..and things can and most likely will change on a dime..
I love that Democrats are focusing on making education more accessible… gods know we need a better educated population… but this is NOT the way to go about it. Focus on reigning in the price gouging universities.

Hey! 40 billion free dollars given out to students in the form of debt transfers to tax payers! Being a bum who doesn’t want to pay their own bills pays off every now and then. Where’s my debt forgiveness? I actually pay my bills. Pay my home and car loans before the debt of students who rolled over and gave up.

Debts don't just disappear. Debts are always paid back one way or another. And who do you all think will be paying for these student loans?
Homeless, jobless, hopeless, served this country, education, confusion, sadness, defeated is how Americans live and breath. U all spend so much time, money, and energy insulting but none talking about the real issues. What is a "student loan"? To buy things while studying?
I am from Europe, and students don't usually buy expensive things until after done studying and are working; why let students get credits and loans? What do they need to buy so important? Is this because Americans need cars to get to the university? I don't get it…
When young people have their student loans forgiven, they are basically going to college for free, therefore they should work for free once they’ve finished school.
As someone working hard to pay off student loans, I support creative solutions but wonder if there are better options.

Just. Reduce. The. Interest. It's not a crazy idea. The government should have found profit in the educated Americans they gave loans to and NOT the money they made in interest. They should drop the interest for all borrowers to a fixed 1%. They'll get their money and a little extra to adjust for inflation. They shouldn't be turning a profit on loans intended to GROW the american workforce and economy.
Student loan debt forgiveness should have to go back to the beginning of time when student loans were started, 1930 or the correct year it began.

Back to the Supreme Court again. These students signed an agreement to pay back these loans. Now they have to pay them back, that’s how it works. One man doesn’t get to say someone else, taxpayers, will just pay it off for them in exchange for a vote next year.
I love how everybody talks about this issue like it isn't the immediate result of millionaires and billionaires existing. The discussion isn't anywhere close to where it needs to be. The student debt issue is just a symptom of wildly outrageous wealth inequality, and attempting to "solve" it without factoring in the outrageous existence of the truly wealthy is just ludicrous. It's no accident the system is the way it is.

Totally unacceptable, Biden is not your money. It is American money. This is federal money and is not Biden money. Instead of forgiving student loans, give the money to social security. To pay back the debt from social security. The federal loans should be stopped completely if colleges and universities don't get students. Schools should lower the money for classes. If the colleges and universities can't afford to stay open, then the college and university should close. Provide classes online and you don't need to have a big building. Only for medical, dental or something that require have a lab.
