Very sustainable. Things change, does happen, adapt as things do happen, anything you have suggested in place of care for your people, china is just more awesome. You got billions of vaccines laying around. You got enough of those breathing machines in stock. Great call. Would have been the best decision. I am still worried, all felt it in some way. To be fair, my old parents are safe in China and do not need to worry about Covid now. I am in the Bay Area, our health officials just said “ we are not out of the pandemic yet”, there will be waves, up and down in future, but they do not want to add more restrictions, though those restrictions help to protect the vulnerable people. Basically, the us has given up the fight and relied on each individual to do what they like. Sadly, many people here pretend that there is no Covid now. Anyway, living with the virus may be not sustainable either. In each wave, there will be 10% long Covid. After a few waves, we are all sick, good luck.
Just let see how they can reach zero plagues. Wonder if the lost of their family members drive high commands into madness. They don't even trust their vaccines anymore.

Most of it's history China lived behind the great wall, isolated from the rest of the world. And it did pretty well, until it opened up for foreigners.
I guess China just goes back to the old, sustainable model of being isolated from the world.
