Only the bigoted to their circumstances can’t see the benefit of a more educated younger society that is not jealous of the easier times when a janitors pay afforded him with a stay at home wife, that home, two vehicles,and two children! Since those times the corporations, that have taken over, have seen productivity go thru the roof, CEO pay up exponentially, worker pay essentially flat, and that is for the few that are left. The USofA’s manufacturing is still a power house, it’s just mostly robots. Republican voters that claim the conservatives have the answers need to ask what question have they answered ever? Do they propose to move the federal government to a sales tax? That would be conservative as the bureaucracy to collect a sales tax is already in place. So why do they, the voters, not demand this? Surely it’s not because they believe the proven to lie politicians that simply say it would be too hard? Of course that’s what they say, but will we allow them to continue until the now over ten feet tall tax code is twenty feet tall? Or maybe it’s the democratic lie of a sales tax would just hurt the poor! Really, something both sides are doing nothing to fix. Could it be “simply” because both sides like giving their latest best contributors a loophole in the tax code? Over ten feet tall! I bet I could, with just a few pages of rules, protect the poor, the misfortunate, and even small business! Make it to answer to the well offs often cry that only they pay taxes. For one it’s sad the people don’t know the founders wanted the federal government to never have taxing powers at all. They, actually, had to come up with the sixteenth amendment establishing an entity not part of the federal government. But it’s politicians who write tax code. Something the founders understood was a completely corrupting proposition which is why they did not allow it. So once again, I ask, how long to we give the politicians to become corrupted? Every one should pay the same, but, how to make it fairly progressive. First for my poor republican voters, understand tax brackets. Your first million dollars of income is not taxed as much as your last million dollars of income. Eliminating income tax would be a massive boost to productivity, but let’s not be stupidly mean to all who now work in that industry as it’s a bit more than say the buggy whip makers! Five to ten years to phase out completely. Silk underwear should be taxed substantially. Locally sourced and manufactured underwear taxed minimally, all the way down to zero in acquired at goodwill! Now the big one making US all pay the same. There is a smallest number of anything available to buy. Whatever that smallest number is and it’s tax will be the tax no matter how many you buy. Your already benefiting from a price reduction by being able to buy in bulk. Easy math here! Widget zydeco comes in the smallest package of ten, say for one dollar, with say, a ten cent tax, buy a package of one hundred and you are blessed with the discount of only paying, again for simplicity’s sake, seven dollars, but to give the wealthy what they have always complained that the taxes are never the same, the tax on those hundred stay the same by simple arithmetic ten=$0.10 100=$1.00 ! No infernal loopholes.
