The news is about 5 to 6 months late, Ontario has set up training schools in Manila, Philippines for training PSWorkers, Canadian pay rates for new recruits that make it start @ $ 18+/ hr most make more than that already.
Indeed, overpopulation is a main problem in Canada's big cities due to unregulated mass immigration and a lack of infrastructure, housing, facilities,… and a high cost of living.
Cities are already experiencing many problems such as homelessness, unemployment, hospital problems, poor public health, transport, education, congestion, sanitation, pollution, crime, fraud, scams, increasing poverty, depression, mental health problems, and poor quality of life….
In fact, Canada has no proper control, rules, regulations, planning, studies, surveys, inspections, organization, or administration. The JT Government should be held responsible for the mess.
Canada may need immigrants to fill labor shortages. But not mass immigrants from fraudulent and corrupt countries who only want cool jobs, good salaries, benefits, and maximum savings in Canada for their back-home investments.
On the other hand, there are many young Canadians who struggle without proper jobs, income, housing, healthcare, transportation, education, and decent life in Canada.
The responsible government should properly regulate the system for the real beneficiaries of the nation and its citizens and the future generation. The JT government should not open the door for just its own interests and political gains.!
The Covid Pandemic affected Healthcare workers massively, many resigned early due to the stress, my wife was one of them, 5 years early , after working Mental health she did old age home, looking after the aged people is hard, getting Covid19 while @ work took the wind off her sail..The recruitment drive for Health Care workers will be a challenge as USA, Australia and countries in the EU and the UK are competing for the same people., I know the Canadian Gov't , specifically Ontario and BC provinces have set up recruitment offices and even training schools in the Philippines for this very task.

The world is changing and immigration is needed. America should keep it up and they will lose everything as it relates to attracting the brightest and smartest here. Thinking of leaving the US to Canada 🇨🇦
Canada is the largest country in the "free" world with a population of fewer than forty million.
If we want to compete in world markets, we have to have skilled people to build a workforce.

The reality is the US is going to have labor shortage after 3 years of prolonged pandemic. If we don't want inflation, we are going to need people to get the work done. If you don't like the idea of immigration, you'll need to develop AI and robots to do the work. The US is currently running behind in robotic technology. China and Japan already have robots serving in restaurants and hotels.
Nursing shortage- so rather than open more seats in the nursing programs and pay nurses a fair wage, you bring in immigrants that will work for peanuts.
The US has a shortage of farm laborers, Military personnel and troops, teachers, healthcare workers, transportation and logistics, food services, and more. But Americans are politically split down the middle on immigration.
