  1. I tip at restaurants, food delivery and for services like transportation (taxis, Uber etc.) and hotels (maids and porters). All these others now really annoy me. I don’t tip for carry out unless it’s a small business.

  2. tips are a gift/ reward and shouldn't be expected. I never tip

  3. Imagine when the tipping wage was created. Someone thought that waitresses were getting too much money because they were getting minimum wage but people were helping them with tips so they had to invent a lower minimum wage to make sure waitresses weren't getting too much money. It's depraved.

  4. Great and informative segment, thank you for producing it. I tip when I think it is necessary, but I think tipping being expected is an overreach!

  5. If you can afford to buy coffee you can tip, can’t tip? Make your coffee at home.

  6. How about tipping when getting my nails, hair and or massages? They always expect it. 😢

  7. It feels weird because it’s a scam and you feel your servers will get less money if they do away with tipping because YOU are not paying them decently how’s that hard to understand.

  8. Next a cashier ringing up my groceries will ask for tips. Wtf

  9. mr. pink didnt want to tip the waitress … in reservoir dogs … 😉

  10. TIPS = To Insure Prompt Service. If you do not provide a service beyond taking my order you shouldn't expect a tip. I went to a coffee shop where I had to walk back up to the counter to pick up my drink and again to pick up my food and then was expected to bus my own table. And I was asked to tip when placing my order. I did everything but make the food.

  11. Tipping people to do their job is stupid.

  12. ABC has got some issues, they're obsessed with Trump. They never have anything nice to say, when they do its always dishonest BS about Biden. Pathetic

  13. I'm poor and I just want the f*king thing I pay for I'm not tipping.

  14. It's not just rare in other countries it's illegal. Companies refuse to pay workers while making insane profits. f*k tipping.

  15. I don’t wanna tip at places like subway but it’s almost like you’re being forced to or tricked into tipping. I paid over $40 for three sandwiches and drinks. That’s enough for Subway!

  16. Tipping someone because they managed to drive a car safely is hilarious. I think that should be the minimum we can expect from an Uber ride. It’s not an extra service. If they help with bags or put in effort to get you closer to the location, know how to avoid traffic or are helpful and kind in conversations that’s a real reason to tip.

  17. I think the American tipping concept is a way for bosses to underpay their employees. In Europe it’s common to pay when the server is doing a good job, not as a formality. Pay your employees and ask for a smaller tip. It shouldn’t be a system based on tips or no tips at all. You can still make extra money during festivals/holidays. Don’t put the responsibility at the consumers, just pay if you want to run a business.

  18. yall making this too complicated, i just stopped eating out and buying overpriced drinks. It's that simple

  19. I have no idea. We don't get to go out to sit down restaurants.

  20. in japan you don't tip no one maybe we can take a page from them

  21. easy fix if your with a group of people everyone just put one dollar down if your just with two people just put down five dollars & go about your day

  22. I have zero issues tapping ‘No tip’ even with the employee standing right there. I refuse to be pressured into spending even more money to subsidize these workers’ wages just so the business owner doesn’t have to pay them a livable wage. If you did nothing more than pour or grab something, I am not going to tip you for it. Period. I could have—and would have—done it myself if I was allowed to. Actually, there’s a thought—make more things self-service. It’s a win-win. Business owners don’t have to be ‘bothered’ to pay or even have employees. People get to just get what they want and go. Sure, it eliminates jobs, but these jobs don’t need to exist. There are far too many meaningless & unnecessary jobs in this country. That’s what you get when every president is expected to add jobs at all costs. 🙄

Also, TIP IN CASH, people! Do NOT ever tip with card! The worker(s) will never see that money! The employer will pocket it 100% of the time!

  23. I am not uncertain. I am certain that I’m never going to tip unless it’s a hair salon. The problem is with these companies’ payment technologies. I don’t care they are asking for a tip. I’m not going to tip.
The man with the restaurant is ridiculous. Pay your damn employees more and cut your profit. I’m not going to subsidize your employees’ salaries.

  24. Uber will cancel your ride and keep your Fare, they want deliver you to your door, you have to walk a few blocks to catch a ride or arrive home!

  25. Yes delivery people can make decent money. They should still be paid salary. At some places in between deliveries you might stick or clean and you might be putting wear and tear on car. I think if u want to drop a dollar for a tip at Dunkin Donuts fine. If I eat out or get a service, I tip at least 20 percent.

  26. I can't afford to too for Panera. My sister's tips good wherever we go. I didnt get tipped for ringing people's lunch up. You might really like the person waiting on you, like Pizza counter or Panera. I like the people at pizza . Noni will not be pressured into tipping for a slice. My sister tipped 20 percent for small businesses
They are not even waiting on us and they need more staff. If a lunch cost 15 to 20 for a lunch let the company pay their salary

  27. It’s getting where their rubbing it in your Face!

  28. "So, what do you do?"

NOT Tip. We tip restaurant staff because they get paid below minimum wage; they depend on our tips. Everyone else can get their wages.

  29. Online ordering sites of restaurants have tip suggestions now, and some of them add a tip that can be removed automatically, so be careful and look at the total at the end.

  30. Nothing confusing . I always tip, between 10-20%. When in doubt, always tip

  31. lol why dont u just raise your employees salary!!!! my tips shouldnt be paying them

  32. Should I tip at McDonalds? Hey Larry Kramer, how about you pay your workers instead of letting them rely on customers who are unpredictable. I won't be going to Whitmans.

  33. Stop tipping! We need the restaurant’s to 💰 more and stop sending the problem to us the consumers! The restaurants are making so much money! How come cashiers from Walmart or Home Depot don’t get tips? The food industry is so smart and they established this “tradition”

  34. I worked for tips for years, and my main issue is that the tip amount is far more dependent on the generosity of the tipper rather than the quality of service. A "good" tipper may give between 15-30% depending on the service, whereas a "bad" tipper gives a max of <15%. This is basically a system that claims to incentivize good service, but in reality subsidizes stingy people. And to make it worse, wealthy people are mostly lousy tippers.

  35. For those who have never worked in the service industry, please know that servers, bartenders and many baristas have to claim their tips at the end of each shift. Law requires they must at least claim based on a certain percent of sales… this includes to-go orders… The taxes are taken out of their paycheck. So if you're not tipping, that is like taking money from the server's pocket for them to serve you…

  36. Just gotta say, I work at a small local coffee shop (not a chain like Starbucks) and make bartender wage, so I survive on my tips. Baristas are providing the same services as bartenders just with coffee instead of alcohol.

  37. I will not tip thank u bye

  38. Business owners love tipping because it is free slave labor for them.

  39. Just always tip or DIY. If you have "tipping fatigue" you go out to much. It's not healthy, and yeah it's expensive. If you can spend that much money that your getting tipping fatigue, you can toss someone a buck.

For those that don't know. There is a loop hole in the wage payment laws for people that make tips. They don't make minimum wage, they often get paid 1 dollar an hour and change to wait on you. They are reliant on your tips. If they don't make enough, they will be compensated by getting the hourly minimum wage amount…. Please just stop eating out , if you can't afford to give a 15 percent tip at least. Just learn to cook, it will save you a lot of money

  40. Company should pay the workers enough wage. They pay less rest of us pay their salary plus service that we recieve. Its not pair for people who works more than anyone but still almost same salary and no one tip them as u worked for us. Actually every company each worker work for public product as waiters do.

  41. Recently purchased some chocolate bars from a candy/gift shop and was prompted to tip up to 15%-50% at the pay screen. It was like being asked to tip at the grocery or drug store.

  42. TIP is an acronym for " to insure promptitude" I think it started in England by my reckoning.

  43. When you start getting asked to tip for ordering a slice of pizza, the times are changing.

  44. I recently went to lunch at Potbellys. 4 people waited on me as I moved down the line. Not one person even managed a smile. The manager rang up my order and asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. I did because I felt internal pressure. My order was wrong. Never again will I tip when I don’t feel like I was treated with basic manners.
