Someone needs to take Twitter behind the wood shed and give it the Old Yeller treatment.
No one should be required to pay money for a checkmark.
The checkmark is not supposed to be a badge of honor, and not supposed to be monetization, it's about proving it's you, so when you read something that has a check mark, it didn't come from a fake profile, it's about making internet safer.

Parents accuse Snapchat of enabling drug dealers. Amazon has facial recognition.
