A state of emergency is in place in Canada as wildfires ravage thousands of acres across Nova Scotia. Officials say the area has already seen more blazes in 2023 than all of last year. NBC’s Valerie Castro reports.

Western Canadian fires have decreased in the last couple of weeks. The percentage of human caused fires is disgusting!
causes: HUMAN
Hope all my family and friends are safe back in NS love from Edmonton!
Lucky there is no such thing as climate change or things like this would be a lot worse.
RESCUE THE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!
Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change. Climate change.
No such thing as global warming
Not enough snow, dry hot weather, climate change, pollution. But at least oil execs continue to rake in profits.
Just remember, Trudeau doesn't care at all!
I live near the fire and it is heartbreaking.
There should be no more fires allowed anywhere !!!
Why are people even driving through it !!!!!@
I could see the haze in the air and smell the smoke in Rhode Island yesterday.
Hiyas,
I live in Halifax. The fire in Tantallon has destroyed 151 homes, two daycares, and several businesses. There's a new fire burning just a few miles north of Taantallon, and the Shelburne fire is the largest in Nova Scotia's recorded history. Oh, and the fire chief is a buddy of mine. We were in the army together.
Will it grow back?
I live in Colorado and the smoke reached all the way here
That video was so realistic because who actually speaks English in Canada 😂
GOD bless all "Firemen".
I caused the wild fires
Hope the tpb are good.
Maybe ricky,Julian and bubbles should quit growing weed.
F**king NDP are working overtime on this one.
This is what happens when authoritarian governments put "green" policies in place with massive red tape that hinders controlled burns and other forestry management procedures. This is also why California is constantly on fire but Texas isn't.
The Northeast is drier now then when I was a kid. It would be humid every summer day with frequent thunderstorms – but no more.
Mama Nature Never gets tires.
Dead wood is not a problem. It's lack of large trees and good top soil allowing moisture to disappear and higher spring temps to light what's left and the houses all around it. Here in NB, there are more fallen trees than standing trees in many places for manu years. Not one is dry, but small trees and sticks, or the millions of small softwood trees planted by the industry? These are man made conditions, the same way the temperature that feeds the fire is man made.
200 firefighters for 2000 acres? So each fire fighter is going to control 10 acres? Sounds like it's going to get much bigger.
