Im sorry but since when does a Hurricane start a firestorm that does so much death and destruction? Dont they cause rain and flooding?
Hurricane? LOL the Big Island was closer to the storm and we had little wind, got some more rain last night which half filled the koi ponds. They are my water gauge. All the islands have DRY SIDES arid desert, and WET SIDES rainforest, waterfalls and rainbows.
Lahaina, Kona and Waikiki DRY SIDE, tourists want to see the sunset over the ocean for tiki drinks. Ok when you're young. Been there done that.
Being raised on the Cali Coast this ain't a big deal to me, I grew up with ocean sunsets, bon fires with live bands on the beach in HS.
So for me living on an island I want to be where the water is. I don't want to BUY it like they do in Kona and need to RATION it when "they" tell you.
My water all free. 5K Gal, on tap for the house, the koi pond hold 20K, plenty for fire abatement. We need gas to start a fire over here.
