I gather the negotiations broke down . The unions are demanding too much . At the end of the day they might get assurances on AI and slightly better residuals from streaming but not much else . Most people who work in the entertainment industry work in a gig economy and like many musicians they will have to work a job to fund their passion for acting and writing which for many is little more than a paid hobby
Is it true that the unions are the ones that try to take away from the workers so the union leaders can make a name for themselves when the industry already was cool with what they’ve given the workers. In fact workers would have more if union leaders do it every other year and created negotiations to take more every time they go to the table .. but than again these managers and higher ups act like Mr. Burns and Smithers trying to take what’s already is known as taking care of and is known as needed for survival and retirement all the time.
I hope they are suffering like never before. Go back and beg McDonald’s for a job. TV had gone WOKE. It blows.
Who is supposed to care about this?
I enjoy that when Hollywood strikes people pay attention but when everyday people try to strike for some of the same things like fair pay and affordable healthcare, no one pays attention and people just get fired because so many places will get rid of you so fast if you say the word union 😑

Actors and writers deserve to be paid the same as teachers, fire fighters and police! 💯
At least the news is not talking about Trump. No disrespect to the actors/actress.
People miss watching their favorite characters and the cleaver writing behind their favorite shows…they DO NOT miss the studio executives and shareholders. The power should have always been, and should always be, in the hands of the people that are the creative force behind the entertainment we love, period. I support this strike and I will stay patient until the correct balance is established, as long as it takes.
99% or Hollywood actors go to awards shows and demonstrate how much they hate most of the country. They look down their noses at you, make fun of you, laugh in your face, and pretend they’re smarter and better than you.
Now we’re supposed to give AF if they make 8 million per movie instead of 9 million? 😂
Good luck with that, delusional weirdos.
🛑 the strike 🪧 literally everyone on the damn call sheet are out of work 👎 Oh wait maybe some commercials are filming 😝
The question is, do consumers even want to watch AI-generated people? Are consumers willing to pay the same rate for AI-generated content? I think the studio executives haven't really thought this through…
People believe it’s only actors and writers who are affected. I work in the Industry in New Orleans which is number 3 or 4 as far as production (California/Atlanta/New York being the top 3) and I’m a set decorator and I haven’t worked a show since August 2022. It’s regular people who also work in this industry who ACTUALLY create the sets that you see, Painters/plasterers/Greensmen/Propmakers/Electricians/Grips/Craft services, the list goes on these are regular people who depend on their jobs that are really hurting.
Hollywood community is Progressive.. I don’t understand their problem with AI
its kinda sad how if you're a writer and can'y "afford" to go on strike you have to or else you'll be blacklisted…
Toòoo many ppl stealing…. i buy blu-ray/dvd combos. %^> im poor 2. & buy mp3s……. im suuuuuper p00r……. i f33l g00d right now yall.
D000 u h3ir m3?
The writers need to write content that most American's would like to see. Why are they worried about AI? Hollywood has been manipulating things for years. They use AI now. I mean Harrison Ford hasn't looked that good since he was let out of the retirement home. If the so-called big actors care so much about the so-called little guys in hollyweird, start putting your millions where your big freaking mouth is…never gonna happen. I can live without Emmy's, Oscars, and all award shows. Talk about a bunch of egos awarding themselves a bunch of awards that no one cares about in the first place. Over priced movies to pay for the over priced actors and bad rehashed scripts…I am over it.
#WGAStrong #SAGAFTRAStrong
these people deserve to be paid more than any ceo writers make actors they make the picture reality animation then costume set designers make up cgi etc it's all connected
When tradition and modern technology collide
I'm going to be real. I've seen the protest, many actors are joining the strike as well. I've overheard some guys in a suit scoffing saying that Hollywood could give two shits if these "extras" strike because there is always another doe-eye aspiring actress or writer with dreams of making in big that they can cycle through. I can't help but assume that's what some of these big wigs may feel.
all they do is remakes of the old stuff with the White men replaced with black lesbians and trannnys, how hard is that? youre already overpaid.
It’s time we all take note and strike for a $20 minimum wage
As a consumer, I am now going on strike against Hollywood movies to protest the cost of movie tickets and concessions and the fact that they haven't produced anything worth paying $30-40 to see. Why can't these striking peoples produce non woke crap that I actually want to watch?
😂 sorry but I'm rooting for the studios. If these people didn't buy million dollar homes and cars and invested instead they wouldn't be broke.
LOL! stay on strike, clearly you lot are the reasons my childhood movies are ruined left and right! 🥳
These people are so stingy 😂 like stfu and get back to work like the rest of society. Whiney asses.
For years now, I have been watching Asian, mostly Korean movies. Couldn't care less if Hollyweird and Disney would drown in their woke race and gender swapping trash they pushed on us for yrs.
It's not surprising that the studios meet with the writers and actors as good optics Danger is if you create your own force majeure you might not be able to defeend contract terminations in court.
