I'm disappointed by the negative comments below. I read Patti's new book and admire it even though I never voted for her father and never would have. Every president exists in a maelstrom of current affairs and the historical moment, and snap total judgments lack modesty. Patti's point is perspective and sympathy (things TOTALLY absent from a certain ex-president). I read Patti's book in about 3 hours and found it laced with humanity and a path out of the political pathology that began in 2015.
It's always intriguing to hear perspectives from those with close connections to historical figures, especially when it relates to current events. The evolution of politics over the years is indeed a captivating subject. It's fascinating to think about how leaders from the past might view today's political landscape, and it often sparks insightful discussions and reflections on how politics have changed over time. What an engaging topic to explore! 🌟

Ronald literally started the modern day discourse that is in politics…..you can trace pretty much everything we are going thru back to 1980. Old Ron spent 8 years destroying this country.
Today's Republicans are in a fictitious war. They are kept jailed in this mindset so they are easy to control through bursts of anger. We are all frustrated living in a free society. That alone is tough, but also worth it. The Country was designed for us to disagree, find common ground, and be UNITED in governing. The MAGAs came along with their Golden Idol and used the frustrations everyone on all sides feel in a free system, and uses it to control the mob. They Govern chaptically. Remember Trumps first two years. Trump had a full Republican controlled Congress. Did he pass any laws to enhance Christianity, or end abortion? Did he drain the swamp or create a sewer? The man had his chance and failed his party whether they can accept that or not! He ain't your answer. He can't be trusted by even those close to him. Wake up. These people have you Christians craving others deaths. You know tis is true. Walk away from them. You can stand against this. If you;re afraid, vote against them, but claim otherwise. It's okay, and we, the real people, will ensure your right to vote remains private. We can live in a peaceful existence. We just have to work to be peaceful.

I doubt Ronnie would be appalled. He was the guy who made an underhanded deal with Iran to NOT release American hostages so he could win an election. Ronald Reagan was pure Evil. But he did have help from General Electric, Lee Atwater, Ralph Reed, and even the likes of Roger Stone.

One of the few gems to come from my walk with my mom and her alzheimer’s is that she is telling me stories from her childhood I’ve never heard before.
Her father started and fueled all of this to happen.
Reagan is responsible for alot of the Republican evil we see today and the type of grift from the criminal Trump family when they gave the super rich one of the biggest tax breaks in history which Reagan loved to do. Reagan was responsible for "trickle down economics" which ruined the economy forever. Reagan should have went to prison for the Iran Contra affair had not Ollie North taken the fall for him.
