The devastating crash of a bus packed full of students headed to band camp landed “virtually everyone” in the hospital, officials said. Farmingdale High School’s beloved band director and a longtime chaperone for the trip were both killed. NBC News’ Emilie Ikeda reports.

Dear God. And i heard a tire defect or….? Faulty tire? On a bus that transported children and adults? Are u kidding me? Why, why would that bus ever hit the road ??

Do the tires on bus have tpms system?
Yes they do hide the problem, but will also run the Driver's with very little Sleep , So it's better to interview the Driver, to see if he is fit to do the long Trip,, All Your lives are gifted with Talent . Also no reason to Rush . Remember the Titanic !!
Too many busses crashing in that area. Nyc needs to ramp up inspections instead of taking kickbacks or calling the depot ahead of time about upcoming inspections so they can hide the problems
Yep agreed chat,,, sad story. But NBC won't tell you a band coach was tazed and arrested by cops for hurting their feelings.

Bus blows a front tire, it goes where it wants, busses are governed 72-74 is as fast as they can go, pulling the maxi-brake in a split second would be near impossible while trying to fight the wheel and on the brakes to
Company I drove for, had 57 years and billions of miles in charter bussing and an immaculate reputation in the industry. new front tires always, every 20k miles, new tires on the fronts again, no retreads ever. and took no chances, this could not happen ever. Prayers for all.
I'm betting $60 of my hard earned cash that his crash was caused by a retreaded tire that exploded.
