Regarding the airlines, flight certification for pilots should be based on competency, not age. Also, the required hrs for new pilots was raised by the FAA about 10 yrs ago from 250 to 1,500 hrs. We could easily roll back that requirement to 750 hrs and not compromise safety, thereby gettin more young pilots which is a long term solution
