  1. The Federal Government gave California money for fire mitigation work for years. But like everything else in that lovely state. The money went ???? Just like all the money that was supposed to go to deal with the homeless problems there. Now fires and homeless are running wild. And everyone thinks that California politics are so great.. 🤯

    https://news.bloombergenvironment.com/environment-and-energy/californians-learning-that-solar-panels-dont-work-in-blackouts

    Oct. 10, 2019
Rooftop systems need batteries to operate when grid is down
Millions have lost power in outage to prevent more wildfires

Californians have embraced rooftop solar panels more than anyone in the U.S., but many are learning the hard way the systems won’t keep the lights on during blackouts.

That’s because most panels are designed to supply power to the grid — not directly to houses. During the heat of the day, solar systems can crank out more juice than a home can handle. Conversely, they don’t produce power at all at night.

So systems are tied into the grid, and the vast majority aren’t working this week as PG&E Corp. cuts power to much of Northern California to prevent wildfires.

The only way for most solar panels to work during a blackout is pairing them with batteries. That market is just starting to take off. Sunrun Inc., the largest U.S. rooftop solar company, said hundreds of its customers are making it through the blackouts with batteries.

“It’s the perfect combination for getting through these shutdowns,” Sunrun Chairman Ed Fenster said in an interview. He expects battery sales to boom in the wake of the outages.

And no, trying to run appliances off the power in a Tesla Inc. electric car won’t work, at least without special equipment.

    2. "California Man Reliant on Oxygen Dies 12 Minutes After PG&E Cut Power"
    https://www.foxnews.com/us/oxygen-dependent-man-dies-12-minutes-after-pge-cuts-power-to-his-home
A Northern California man reliant on an oxygen tank to breathe died 12 minutes after power company Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) cut off electricity to his home, fire officials said Friday 11 Oct 2019.

Robert Mardis, 67, died roughly 12 minutes after the California power company cut off power to his home and the surrounding area.

Fire personnel responding to a 3:40 a.m. call found the man unresponsive on the floor wearing his oxygen equipment around his nose.

Mardis’s family said he had a lot of health issues and had battery-operated equipment at the ready in case something happened, but he could not reach his battery-operated tank in time.

“He had health issues,” Mardis’ daughter, Marie Aldea, told KXTL. “He had really bad COPD, which didn’t help, and he had congestive heart failure and other health issues, but the power going off and him not being able to get to his oxygen is, I believe, is what did it.”

But an autopsy report completed Friday afternoon 11 Oct 2019 concluded that the Mardis died of severe coronary artery atherosclerosis and not because of the power outage, the Sacramento Bee reported.

PG&E—California’s largest utility company— announced Monday that large parts of Northern California could face blackouts to prevent wildfires from starting.

The company added that it would shut off power to 29 counties between Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon 10 Oct 2019 because of the dry air and 30 mile per hour (mph) wind gusts that could start potentially catastrophic wildfires.

  3. Some older gentleman who was dependent on oxygen just died because of this

  4. What a bunch of bull shit horse shit. Until they come with guns you will continue to lie to the public. As they do🤷‍♂️

  5. P. G. & E., “The blackout was a choice between profits or safety. We chose safety.”

Are the fine folks in California really so naïve as to actually buy this BS? Or for that matter, climate change for the seasonal dry weather conditions.

    P. G. & E. just paid out $11 Billion to insurance companies for the fires last year caused by their negligence to inspect, repair and/or replace damaged power lines. To be told this blackout was for any other reason than to protect their shareholders and a profit is utter fantasy.

Although P.G. & E. is a private company it is still regulated by the California PUC. So how is the PUC handling the actions of this company it regulates? “We hope P.G. & E. will re-inspect and invest in the repair of its power lines.” Wow, nothing like coming down hard on a business they regulate! (Dripping Sarcasm) Not even a slap on the hands, more like a stern look from grandma.

"Sexually Transmitted Diseases Explode in California"
    https://moonbattery.com/sexually-transmitted-diseases-explode-in-california/

    11 Oct 2019
If the lights going out doesn’t make it obvious that moonbattery has
shunted the erstwhile Golden State onto the wrong track, maybe the
explosion of sexually transmitted diseases will get the message through:

Sexually transmitted diseases reached epidemic levels in California
last year, with three STDs hitting their highest levels in the state in
30 years, according to a report released Tuesday.

For 2018, the California Department of Public Health saw an increased number of
reported syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia cases.
    https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/CDPH%20Document%20Library/STDs_Reach_Epidemic_Levels_Infographic_2018.pdf
The number of cases also rose significantly from a decade ago.

Iniquity punishes not only the guilty but the innocent. The number of infants
born with potentially lethal syphilis has shot up 900% since 2012.

STD rates are rising all over California … with the highest number
of cases reported among people between the ages of 15-24,
African-Americans, and those who are gay, bisexual, or men who have sex
with other men, according to the department.

Maybe Sodom and Gomorrah were not really destroyed by brimstone and fire in a paroxysm
of violence. Maybe that was literary license to illustrate a slightly
more subtle process of destruction — like what is happening to California.

  10. It's sad that California which is the wealthiest state of Mexico can have such big problems.

  11. They cut the electricity in order to prevent huge fires

  12. Why not just artificially wet the ground?! That state is run by idiots! Thank God I don't live there!

  13. PG&E caused a state of emergency. Awesome how about they fix shit

  14. The devil's winds. Lol did he just watch crazy ex girlfriend

  15. Haha wtf.. what a mess.. what makes me laugh is there isn't even a single leaf blowing in the breeze.

Its obviously a failing company making excuse

  16. I think it's time for people to learn how to live off the grid. Everyone who lived in the counties that sued the company. Should have invested in alternative means to support their residence. Instead of buying the new fancy cars, home's and higher wages.
Remember electricity is a luxury…the government does not mandate everyone to have electricity.

  17. LOL… Even when we do not get service, we still get charged for it. And their excuse for it is: ohhhh you have a leak somewhere. But of course we have a huge leak.

  18. So why is Texas power off?

  19. If they shut off the power than how did they launch a new website ? The governor has executives power in his state tell P G AND E. To turn the power on .

  20. Tribulation ahead .. Find Jesus Christ

  21. It's a story about greed and mismanagement! I couldn't have put it better Mr Newsom, this is exactly why your Administration has failed to do anything about the almost 45,000 homeless people on the streets of Silicon Valley! You would rather spend $150 billion of our tax money on illegal immigrants than help homeless US citizens living on our streets!

  22. Red Flag Warning. I dought California is as prepared as we are. Long Live the Republic.

  23. This is unbelievable!!! OMG how terrible!! Another reason to NOT live in California!!

  24. That's the craziest crap I have ever heard. Oh wait that transgender suing to get "her" scrotum waxed still takes the cake. Plunging millions of people Into Darkness to prevent fires is still crazy.

  25. Kind of reminds of the movie “into the forest” on Netflix

  26. This is why necessities shouldn't be relied upon by private, profit focused companies. A perfect argument for putting the government in charge, thus taking the greed factor out of the equation. PG&E should have at least waited for fires to start before taking this selfish measure. How much will they be costing their company in the lawsuits that will erupt from this? Deaths will happen due to lack of services, auto accidents, and impulse crimes in the dark.

  27. California really seems like a wonderful place to live, NOT! It seems California is not so "Golden" after all…lol. All these people losing their food in their fridges, restaurants losing foods and customers. Damn the tons of food that will be lost is criminal by this lame ass power company. Well they did kill over 50 people so I guess they don't give a crap.

  28. I don't believe this. What is Communist California up to now? Need to recall the governor.

  29. Watch out with the looters. No cameras, no security alarms and no way to call for help without power. Stay safe Cali.

  30. Thats dumb as fuck, maybe these fuckin morons should try to stop Wind.. since wind carries embers not electricity.. and you wonder why people are pissed?? FUCK YOU, you are endangering peoples safety you fuckin idiots.. and these politicians just vote themselves raises?? FUCK THEM this is Their mess to clean not the peoples

  31. This is why EVERYONE needs solar panels and/or windmills. The government shouldn't make these so costly.

  32. Cheaper light bill. Get a generator

  33. well they wanted no cars planes hamburgers oil gas , just a little taste of whats to come.

  34. I mean their fault for sueing right?
