  12. From France :
    We all need examples, models, extraordinary common people to refere to…vous êtes éternel Monsieur !

  13. And the man was tough as rawhide. According to legend, Yeager was flying another experimental plane when a malfunction forced him to eject. Unfortunately, the ejection didn't go as planned and he suffered sever burns to his body and face. When he walked (of course) to the approaching rescue crew after safely parachuting, he was so badly burned — skin literally hanging from him — that one of the rescue crew actually upchucked. But Yeager didn't even flinch. Just another day at the office. This scene was represented in "The Right Stuff" but, of course, they didn't show how badly burned he was in the actual incident.

  14. And yes, he was from rural southern West Virginia, a state ridiculed by most media, and the state that voted for Trump more than any other state at 70%.

  15. He was the true "Man of Steel". RIP Mr. Yeager.

  22. For Chuck:
    Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth…
    and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
    Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds,
    and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of –
    wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence…
    Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along
    and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
    Up, up the long delirious burning blue…
    I've topped the wind-swept heights – with easy grace –
    where never lark, or even eagle flew;
    and while with silent, lifting mind, I've trod
    the high untrespassed sanctity of space,
    put out my hand…and touched the face of God."

    "High Flight" by John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

    John 14:27- “ . . . Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

    Psalm 46:2- Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change . . .

    1 John 4:18- There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, . . .

    2 Timothy 1:7- For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

    Romans 8:15- For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, . . .

    Isaiah 43:11- “I, even I, am the Lord, And there is no savior besides Me.

    In the time of need who would you call on?

    The signs of the times which were told are now being unfold

    Are you depending on God or depending on this world?

    Your fears will disappear with God’s perfect love

    Who is your slave master upon this earth?

    Choose eternal life instead of a good life

  26. All the good ones man. All the good ones going at once😭😭😭😭😭

  27. All this is great but what were his/her/their/zee/zur personal pronouns? Also, was he woke? He was an old white man and probably said the N word. We should be cautious about honoring him.

  28. What a loss, America has lost a real hero. RIP you will be remembered and have a big page in history.

  29. I was fortunate to have grown up with the WWII guys running things. Now we have people who have forgotten what it was all for because they cheated their way out of serving just as their family members did. Chuck was my hero long before I knew his name. My dad was Army Air Corps during WWII.

  30. You Sir are definitely my hero. You will always be my role model. Chuck Yeager and Bob Hoover are once again together tearing up the skies!! R.I.P . Hawk out!!
