Matt Gaetz, R-Fla. , objected to the phrasing the amendment used as the two lawmakers argued during a rules meeting.

Watching the coverage of January 6 committee it’s hard to find any place where they proved beyond reasonable doubt that it was an insurrection. Beyond reasonable doubt is the standard for capital punishment. Just because they repeat the word insurrection multiple times doesn’t make it proof. They have not presented evidence beyond reasonable doubt that this was ever an insurrection. That is the basis for what all of these people involved are being adjudicated for.
