Ah yeah, the true dinosaur shows who's boss. (Birds are technically dinosauria.)
The freezing cold and the snow kills all the bugs off and their spiders here don't get that huge like the ones in Florida and they don't have a mosquitoe infestation problem here either the cold kills them off.

I hated living in Florida it's way too hot too muggy and there's way too many bugs and too many snakes and alligators for me! I left in 2013 lived in Colorado for 6 happy years.
These birds will eat anything. I live in Florida and while they usually hang out down the harbor occasionally I get them in my back yard raiding my pond. I have seen them eat snakes longer than themselves, turtles wider than their mouths, rats, blue crabs that would make a nice meal for an adult human, and every species of fish including sharks. They might look harmless and not particularly intimidating but be grateful they aren't as big as ostriches.

I have seen the birds eat baby Chicks alive. These birds are disturbing because they eat a lot of babies alive.
These birds swallow other birds whole so I'm not surprised
