For nearly 200 years, historically black colleges and universities have educated tens of thousands of students. But what was once 120 schools is now 101, as HBCUs struggle with financial woes, accreditation and declining enrollment. In the last 20 years alone, six universities have closed. Spelman College senior Tangela Mitchell joined THINK to discuss the importance of HBCUs in her life, and for America.
