How Johnson & Johnson Verdict Could Set Precedent For Opioid Lawsuits | NBC News Now

An Oklahoma judge is holding pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson accountable for the deadly opioid crisis in the state and ordered it to pay over half a billion dollars. NBC News’ Kate Snow reports on the judgment and how it could set the precedent for more than 2,000 similar lawsuits pending across the country.

  1. I’m sorry but, blaming Johnson & Johnson for the “opioid crisis” is like blaming the drug dealer for getting your kid hooked on heroin. EVERYONE KNOWS opioids are addictive. This isn’t some experimental drug put on the market that they suddenly realize people are going out and killing while taking it. This is a substance that has been used in this manner for more than 200 years and opium since 3400BC.

  2. What I don't understand is why NRA is not getting sued for supplying guns & ammo if Johnson & Johnson is getting sued for suppling pain relief

  3. Johnson and Johnson made 81.6 billion last year, that fine is not holding them accountable.
