no board can simply pick you for a game or few..if they have to give you the national cap n make you part of the team and then invest on you mentally,emotionally and financially then the minimum they expect is that you got to play in atleast few matches. for that dont you think fitness is of paramount importance ??
Fitness is important for all humans let alone sports & cricket players.
I understand that everybody has different body type but that shouldn't be an excuse at International level.
Fitness is important especially if you wanna contribute in atleast 2 facets of the game.
If there is an impact player rule in International cricket, It would make sense to play a battler regardless of his fitness but as long as there isn't one you can't play an unfit player in an international game.
In franchise leagues ,it makes sense but when you are representing your country these things needs to be followed.
Not body shaming but if you love cricket you gotta work on your fitness.. there's no way around it
