More women are dying from alcohol-related causes. Why? | The Excerpt

A recent groundbreaking study revealed that alcohol-related deaths are surging for women even more than for men. What’s to blame? Dr. Paula Cook, host of The Addiction Files podcast and a board-certified addiction medicine and family medicine physician, joined The Excerpt podcast to talk about a dangerous culture around alcohol and why women face higher risks. She also advises how people can evaluate their own alcohol consumption habits to find out if changes are needed.

  1. id say its from depression lonliness thats just me sad though

  2. Alcohol is sold all over the place but causes the most deaths and ruin to life, more than just about anything else. There are cool books like "The Easy Way" by Carr and "30 Days to Sobriety" by Harper Daniels that can be good for anyone who drinks.

  3. None of this is unpredictable. Women want to take on the roles of men, well you get the stress of men too. They also wanna be boss babes and they "dont need no man" so they are lonely without a man. This isn't hard to figure out…. for a man. Women can't see themselves as doing anything wrong ever because they are children.

  4. Women drink more because women have more stress than men. Period.

  5. Women are trying to medicate themselves because of the sad state of our poorest medical system!
