Murali was a terrific player. Whenever I watched him play against England and Australia at their backyard, I had not seen him put a foot wrong, while other batters would be all over the place and gift their wickets away. Takes heart to be Murali Vijay definitely.
When on song ,the most elegant player to watch ..His trademark lofted shots against spinners joy to watch. Same shot got him out in this innings though.
I always gets frustrated if he gets out ( even after scoring 100 😂)..
Very fortunate to watch 2018 Joburg test in stadium. He scored 25 or so 2nd innings in a treacherous simply unplayable pitch . He played almost 3 hours to wear down SA quicks and laid the foundation for tail to go hard against tiring bowlers. Very underrated innings of his .
