The new unredacted details from the FTC’s amended complaint against Amazon provide new insight into the alleged scheme to enroll customers, unwittingly, in the company’s Prime program. Amazon says they have “always made it clear” for customers to sign up and cancel Prime. NBC News’ Miguel Almaguer reports.

This JUST happened to me. I went to the Prime video section and there's a button that says enroll, but under it is tricky words "Manage or Update your account". When I went to see the status of my account, the 2 buttons was actually 1 button and immediately charged me the $15.10 cents. I then had to navigate a bunch of tricky menus to find a live chat agent to cancel my subscription. I'm not saying that I won't ever subscribe again, but that experience plus this video shows I can't trust Amazon as an honest company with executives that clearly manipulate their UI and lie about it. It's like me going back to Wells Fargo after they opened all those accounts, I never could go back after that.

The free trials are pretty tricky but cancelling is extremely easy. I always take the trial and then cancel as soon as the order ships.
Just have those executives open a new account and order a couple of items; get signed up for/into #Prime, while under oath, and have them show how 'easy' it is to quit. 🤔 After two failed attempts, 'guilty as charged'. 🤨
Amazon is smashing and grabbing millions of dollars from millions of people.. This is millions of times worse than the smash and grab TV stations like to broadcast to people…
This is why I delete my debit card information after every purchase on amazon. Can’t take money if they can’t find my card.

I always get free shipping without prime. Those prime subs are suckers.
I like Amazon Prime. Everything I purchase has a lifetime warranty on it ( as long as Amazon still offers it that is). For example, buy a vacuum cleaner, use it. You have a problem 6 months down the road, a year, 2 maybe? Order another one and send back the old. Reason? Defective. Received used item in box. Works for everything I purchase. Guilt? Nah. Most of the stuff Amazon gets back ends up in huge warehouses collecting dust or in landfills. Search: Where do Amazon returns end up?
They owe me, ALOT.

I couldn’t unsub…two years and they finally deactivated my account for lack of payment.
I thought I was hitting to purchase but I was signing up for Prime for 30 days. I had to google how to cancel it and they still tried to get me to wait for 30 days but the renewal was before that. Auto renewal.
Amazon prime is extremely easy to cancel, the FTC shouldn't be after them for that, what they should be after them for is selling products sold and shipped by Amazon and then not offering any support after the sale.
More should step up and sue these crooks

lol Amazon forgot to remove my Prime membership after i got fired. a whole year went by i was getting PRIME for free
