New Orleans Hard Rock Hotel Construction Site Partially Collapses, Killing At Least 1 | Nightly News

The upper floors of the Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans suddenly began to crumble on Saturday, its concrete floors collapsing on top of each other. Louisiana Gov.   13. Stay away from post tension. I prefer old favored reinforced concrete or steel framed structures.

  17. Where were the City Inspectors, making sure the contractor wasn't taking any shortcuts? Did the Structural Engineers do a stress analysis on the steel and concrete being used on this building? Someone needs to be sued, and someone needs to go to jail if they cheated on safety requirements for this building.

  20. Bean counter decided it was ok to use grade 2 bolts to support the steel beams, what could possibly go wrong.
