People are probably making a big deal about this for no reason. I guess selectors can only go with fitness reports for selections. MI and Rohit played down the injury because they didn't want to give out anything. Playing T20s and ODIs are completely different because you have to stay out on the field for longer. In Australia, grounds are big so Rohit would have to run around/ bat for a longer period than what he did in IPL. India also has back up openers and they figured why not rest Rohit and give a chance to other players. Playing ODIs will give Mayank more match practice in Australia which will be useful for Test matches. Maybe the people to be blamed are BCCI/NCA physios and medical staff. Like Kohli said, it would have made sense for Rohit to go along with the squad and recover in Australia.

I saw the "The Last Dance" and I feel players that we call as great such as Kohli are no where near to a high level of athletic greatness. There is a big gap. Kohli should really win games for India. Sachin used to do that, Yuvraj and Dhoni did that too. He has to leave everything and just win games for India. Period.
