Multiple people gathered outside Saticoy Elementary School in Los Angeles to protest an optional “Pride Day” assembly that included a video reading of a book that showcased families with “two mommies or two daddies.” The school district stands by its decision to approve the book with support from counter protesters. please note this assembly was an optional event so parents could decide if it was appropriate or not. I mind when some people feel they can force their narrow view of what constitutes a Family on all the rest of us who understand that Life is far more diverse and complex. Real life lessons here and the kids are watching how the so-called adults are resolving their conflicts.
The news anchor worried about kids seeing grownups clash against each other but won’t bat an eye when kids are at pride parades or drag shows. That’s the real issue.
