A combination of increased demand, staffing shortages and supply chain issues have all led to a shortage of the ADHD drug Adderall. NBC’s Berkeley Lovelace has the latest on the shortage as some pharmacies are turning patients away, forcing them to go to extreme lengths for their medication.

This shortage has been going on since Oct 2022… :/
This is a travesty of policy and logistics. There is no legitimate argument for the continuation of this crisis. Medicine is about helping everyone to be productive members of society, and this is the opposite.
You know what there definitely not a shortage of. M*th. Cheaper than ever too. Think of how many new addicts this is going to make
Psychedelic mushrooms in small doses are far better than any kind of over-the-counter speed medications
Side effects of adderal included an obnoxious twitch somewhere on your body when you reach about 40s 50s
Gladly 4 years off Speed meds and SO GLAD the come down is over .
This is a much bigger story than is being portrayed here. People who struggle with ADHD – left untreated – are FAR more likely to become dependent on government…and if there is one thing we know about the people currently in charge it is that they want more than anything – people to become dependent on government.
They need their over the counter crank 😂
Cheap shi+
You worst then the devil there
Fentanyl Adderall coming to a street corner near you‼️
RIP college students ‼️
What's affecting fabulous more? Hyperactive doctors that take the easy route and prescribe when not needed, or parents not parenting their kids properly?
Maybe we wouldn't have a shortage if parents would actually parent and doctors actually treat.
Oh wow. We the people of america are crying about a shortage of Adderall smh. While the rest of the world starves and their main comcern is how to survive. Make it work till the supply comes back and stop complaining 🙂 respectfully
Guarantee 90% of the people , especially kids don't really need to be on it.
boohoo
Tom Cruise was right. Kids are going through withdraw now. Just as well. If they are smart, they will never go back on.
They always forget the people with narcolepsy that need it just to survive. I need it to drive for more than 30mins for example..
This will not end well. Trust me, there's nobody more willing to do anything, regardless of how messed up it is, to get their fix than an adderal abuser. Hopefully, the people who actually use it responsibly are able to get it before the scammers do.
I’m a prescribing HCP and honestly, this Adderall shortage is honestly kind of a HUGE public health risk…just think about being on the road with someone who has Narcolepsy who needs to take Adderall “JUST TO” stay awake (which is usually an extremely difficult and oftentimes insurmountable task), let alone being on the road with all of the people with ADHD who get distracted while driving.
Overall, just in general, which do you think is MORE dangerous, BOTH to the patient AS WELL AS the public, as a whole overall: An untreated narcoleptic? Or someone with ADHD?
sober sucks huh. Sometimes you have to apply yourself and not depend on a drug to do it for you. But if there was a caffeine shortage I'd be upset also
Maybe we should be wary to just slip into a society that becomes overly dependent on pharmaceuticals while not enough of us exercise or try to eat right. Maybe we have all the problems that we have coming to us.
