President Donald Trump addresses more than 2,500 military veterans at AMVETS’ 75th Annual National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, August 21.

“The President will honor America’s commitment to our veterans and thank them for their unwavering service to our nation,” a White House official told Military Times. “Under President Trump’s leadership, his administration has made great strides in improving the lives of our brave and selfless veterans.”

AMVETS, which is also known as American Veterans, is the most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization open to representing the interests of 20 million veterans and their families. We are veterans serving veterans since 1944.

  3. that's fine but it makes it harder to get regular american people to pay back debt when you make such exceptions.

  4. Veterans with student loan debt is just ridiculous. Disabled or not… but at least some of them will get some relief though

  5. At the end of the presentation Trump signed an executive order cancelling all student loan debt for 25,000 100% total and permanent disabled veterans. Can someone explain this to me because I had mine cancelled about three years ago. All I had to do was apply for it. In essence, the executive order was not necessary, right? To give my fellow commenters background info, I found this article from 2018: https://rebootcamp.militarytimes.com/news/education/2018/12/27/this-federal-program-wipes-away-disabled-vets-student-debt-theyre-defaulting-on-their-loans-anyway/
