E-cigarette companies like Juul, Altria and Blu have implied that their products are safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes. But scientists haven’t done nearly enough research to determine the risks of vaping, nor is it clear how effectively these products do (or don’t) help users quit smoking. Dr. Alok Patel joined NBC News to discuss why e-cigarettes aren’t the solution for America’s smokers.
