My greatest worry is how do we recover from all these economic and global troubles? Especially with the political power tussle going on in the united states.
Simple fact. The production and sale of oil hasn't changed since this conflict started.
When China bought grain from south America when we had issues with them, the people who normally bought grain from south America bought their grain from us. Who bought from whom changed, but the total world grain sales were the same.
What Europe and others no longer by from Russia is now sold to China and India. Europe and others buy from those who China and India bought from mostly the middle.
What has changed is U.S. oil production and refining. This due to the current U.S. administration stopping oil production on federal lands, not issuing drilling permits, asking refineries to reopen some operations that need repair with no guarantee they'll be allowed to operate after putting billions into those repairs.
And another added cost is carbon credits and an array of regulatory fees etc.
It's like, I'll add $2 to your costs and then say it's the oil companies fault.

Lets think back a bit. No one was traveling two years ago, no fuel was being purchased. not much was being made. You could not sell the stuff. Now COVID has faded, every one is driving, flying, the oil industry can;t catch up,

For a show on a business channel talking business, there is a lot of misinformation packed into just this segment.
It's important to know that Russia exacerbated inflation across the world by creating shortages to the EU, but at least for the US and North America, there has been next to zero direct effect. Russia is not even a monor source for any fossil fuel products in the US and Canada and does not have even a tiny effect on crude and NG supplies in North America. The rising fossil fuel prices in the US is a purely domestic problem caused by domestic oil companies who in their own words have no intention of returning to the low profit margin years prior to 2016. Despite ample supplies of crude (yes canceled oil drilling leases have had no effect on crude availability), refinery capacity in the Gulf states is currently running at only 90% (April and May 2022 data) of maximum capacity and is at a level that isn't even at max production during the pandemic (95% max capacity). The oil industry has no proper explanation for this like down for scheduled maintenance or accidents lke explosions. The oil industry just wants to restrict output sufficiently to justify rising prices. But that's just the Gulf Coast states that serve the US east of the Rockies. West Coast oil refineries that serve west of the Rockies are running at even lower capacity.
Wake up American Public. There's no one to blame for rising prices of energy, prices at the pump, chemical fertilizers that are a major part of crop yields and as a component of everything we manufacture, use and eat each day but ourselves. We as the general public as well as our elected officials and media are willing to give our oil companies a pass for causing ourselves the pain of the inflation you see that is due to rising fossil fuel prices.
BTW – That 8.5% inflation in the US is only the peak and has reportedly been sustained over 2 mths. I don't know that the US has seen that much inflationn for longer or what the figures are like across the world but I suspect that graphic is intentionally false to give an illlusion the US has the 2nd highest inflation in the world. From what I've seen, that's far from the truth so Fox Business probably gets a bushel of demerits for intentionally creating a lie.
Another point is that the talk about the recovering Russian ruble is again completely false. The Russian ruble was pegged to gold for awhile and AFAIK still there should Russia choose to exercise so it's acting like a floor to the value of the ruble. Bottom line is that the ruble's value is not valued in open currency markets like other currencies are so cannot be valued simply because Russia makes it so. A better yardstick might be to inspect the terms and conditions of exports and imports, comparing like goods. This is an analysis that's not based on official government pronouncements but it's the best method available.
