Haitians are escaping starvation in Haiti. The gang violence is inevitably the way the poor who do not attempt to leave Haiti and challenge the waters are trying to feed themselves since you need money to buy food and necessities the poor do not have in Haiti. The reporting of this as a criminal episode is defamatory of the real dire conditions the society is experiencing that cannot meet its needs being tied to the collapse of the US economy.
