Over 1,000 derailments were reported in 2022, It will only get worse. It's not just the railways, it's the roads, bridges, ports ….. Spending taxpayer money on infrastructure instead of wars would be nice.

If the news ever interviewed workers the Public would have known about these imminent train disasters a long time ago. Long enough for people to pressure legislators to action, PREVENTING disasters.
Biden has used his “I’m a train guy!” narrative to campaign on; but when railway workers were striking for seven paid days off per year, he shut them down and forced them back to work.
These dedicated, knowledgeable workers were trumpeting dangers such as one to three MILE long trains operating with a single conductor, old outdated decaying brakes, equipment and other infrastructure problems, or the fact that private corporations and investors don’t want to make train stops for anything other than the highest profit goods, so many of our products and necessities are left to truckers now. And of course stagnant wages and lousy working conditions.
For a private industry that should belong to the public in America. Billions are made off the railroads, exploitatively, dangerously, irresponsibly, without transparency or public voice. Listen to the workers, they know more than anyone how things stand within their industries.
These disasters could have easily been prevented.
