Snow and ice that froze over the Pacific Northwest continues to make its way across the country. Over the last week, at least 47 people have died from the winter storms. NBC News’ Emilie Ikeda reports from outside Buffalo, New York where more snow is set to hammer the Northeast.

Yo, if your car gets stuck, use your floor mats! Just dig out enough snow to shove them under the front of the tires and you're good to go. Get the car unstuck, stop VERY slowly a few feet away so you don't dig yourself in again. Get the floor mats and drive away.
A friend and I helped out like 5 people one year when we were just wandering around having fun.
Also, the rule of thumb for the speed you should go while driving on snow and ice is about 2-3 mph on neighborhood streets… period. 10 on major roads and maybe 30 on a highway. With at least 10 car lengths in front of you .. preferably 20 on a highway.
Minnesota is known for having some of the worst winters but this year it’s been oddly…dry. I mean we haven’t gotten anything here in the Twin Cities. God bless everyone else and stay safe
