His not a responsible gun owner. He was not under threat or being harassed. He could have calm down and not brandished his weapon. Fortunately he did not pull the trigger. It’s not a situation to pull a gun.
I worry that the man still is allowed to have a gun, even after demonstrating thar he is not mentally stable. Are they waiting for him to pull the trigger before they take it away?

Driveways are weird. You're always allowed to approach a front door to ring the doorbell at an address unless they have explicit signage or a gate.
Would he rather people walk across his lawn to do so?
Also at least in my area, the curb lawn and up to and including the sidewalk are city property, not the homeowner's property, although I do see that this area doesn't have sidewalks.
