  11. If anyone can help me with this please leave your feedback. So I went to the doc and my liver enzymes were high (AST was 268 and my ALT was 78). Prior to this I was eating a low carb (occasional potatoes, rice, etc), high protein (100g+ of protein/day, mostly beef and eggs with chicken and pork occasionally), moderate fat(only lard for cooking) diet (but not keto). Stupidly, I wasn't eating many vegetables. The main reason I lowered the carbs was because I don't digest many carbs too well. I used to IF from 2017 to the end of 2018 (vegan until the end of summer 2018). I was really inconsistent for the end of 2018/beginning of 2019. Recently I haven't been able to IF because I get hypoglycemia symptoms. (this never happened that bad in the past.) I started checking my blood sugar and it's usually low, even when I eat sometimes. From the beginning of 2019 till now I have been eating more carbs to try and fix the blood sugar/hypoglycemia thing and bring some balance back. (mostly rice, potatoes, lentils, fruit and beans but no refined/processed carbs). I thought I was doing good but then I went to the doc and found out I had high liver enzymes and my blood sugar was still low (67) btw In the blood test my a1c was 5.2 so I don't think I'm insulin resistant, although my grandma has diabetes so maybe its in my genes. Since then I've stopped eating beef/eggs as much because I figure thats the problem but now all these carbs are giving me gas/bloating again. I've been eating more veggies so I hope that's helping but I'm still confused about all of this. One last thing. Last summer I quit 2 years of vegan and tried keto 3 times (with about a week and a half for each attempt). After that I tried carnivore for a week which afterwards got me into the low carb thing. I don't know if all those changes may have affected my liver. Anyway, I'd like to eat beef/eggs again but I'm kinda worried it's bad for my liver. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

  14. Most health care practioners wants to avoid a functional approach because it’s time consuming. Also it requires a non-pathology trained doctor like yourself. As in your dimmer switch example the pathology trained doctor wants to rewire the room and not look for the cause of the dimming. We each need to be knowledgeable about our own functional health care and seek input from experts like you. Thanks for another great video.

  17. Dr. Ekberg, each and every of your videos produces new awareness for me. I feel like I've been lied to my whole life, I would have been better off just doing whatever I wanted than following all previous medical advice I've received. You along with Drs Fung, Lustig, Dinocolantonio, Mercola et al FINALLY put me on the right track. With healthy keto and IF and HIIT In 3 months down 33lb, fasting glucose from 105 to 85 and ketones hovering right around 1.5. Went from panting for minutes after mild cardio to HIIT 130 to 170 back to 130 again in a minute. I literally can't believe I'm even the same person as 3 months ago. THANK YOU!!
