Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney said that one of the reasons President Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine was because he wanted them to assist in an investigation into the 2016 election. The president has denied there was a quid pro quo during his July phone call with Ukraine’s leader and Mulvaney now says that his on-camera comments were misconstrued.
