"This is the hottest weather in three thousand years". Really? You people can't forecast rain tomorrow accurately, we're supposed to believe you know all the weather (and fires) those trees have endured over three thousand years?
Not trying to downplay the situation at all. But giant sequoias need wild fires in their life cycle in order to reproduce and eliminate other species of trees competing for resources.
there is a time for weeping, and there is a time for wailing. there is a time for moaning, and there is a time for groaning. there is a time for hunting, and there is a time for fishing on park property. there is not a time for aunt sars to flick her still lit cigarette butt into the half empty can of cousin trudeaus, nor is there a time for disgruntled munchkins guilty of more than arson to try and extort nature, or park services, for their own greedy underground criminal purposes.
I think it’s ridiculous to think anyone can save trees from fire. Trees are SUPPOSED to burn. Yes they are ancient but they aren’t immortal. How do you know you aren’t just making the situation worse by not letting nature do its job?
Why isn’t there a country wide Governmental effort going on to save those trees, there should be planes all over the place. 🙏🙏🙏

A little forestry and even the Sequoias would be fine. Just some good old fashioned management would do the trick. It is not rocket science!!! But then also, environmental nut jobs have been known to start a few of em.
